Before I came to Summit Spine and Disc Center I was in crippling, unbearable pain. I’m a PE teacher so movement is my life and it was too the point where I was beginning to wonder what my future was going to be in my profession. I couldn’t ride my Harley or bicycles anymore and my tennis rackets and roller blades had all been put away.

I’d tried injections and holistic treatment and was still looking for an answer. I didn’t want surgery so I responded to a flier I saw for non-surgical spinal decompression. I have a degree in exercise physiology so I researched the treatment and it sounded like it would work so I made an appointment with Dr. Keller. I brought my MRI and Dr. Keller told me I had a ruptured disc. I would have given anything to be out of the pain I was in.

Now, I’m 7 months into the treatment and MY LIFE IS BACK! I’m right back to where I was before.  I get out of bed in the morning and think, “Is this real? Am I really out of pain?.”  I’m back to teaching volleyball and lifting. I can cuddle my wife in bed again. It’s been a year and half since I could do that. I’m riding my Harley again, playing tennis, and rollerblading. Non-Surgical spinal decompression is AMAZING! It really worked for me.

To anyone hesitant to start non-surgical spinal decompression I would recommend you stick with it! It takes a serious time commitment but if you stick with it, I swear by it! The staff is wonderful and the technicians are very knowledgeable and friendly.  If you still have reservations, I would recommend you should give it a shot. It’s changed my life!

I was suffering from lower back pain that went deep into my hips and legs from a fall I had taken.  I was struggling to teach my dance classes and to sit in my office doing paperwork.  Even sleeping at night was affected.  I hate drugs and knew I didn’t want surgery; so when a friend told me about Summit Spine and Disc Center, I called for a consultation.

I started the program three months ago and now I am definitely sleeping much better.  I am dedicated to my profession and am aware of what I need to do to protect my spine.  I feel so much better!

The staff and doctors are all so professional.  The offices are clean and make you feel comfortable.  I will miss coming here when my treatments are complete.  To anyone hesitant to start Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression, I would say, “You have nothing to lose and everything to gain, avoiding surgery and shots.  It’s so worth it!”

For about 15 years, I’ve experienced periodic episodes of lower back pain, with differing levels of severity.  A significant flare up of a bulging disc about 10 years ago resulted in two hours a day of in home physical therapy, core-strengthening exercises, muscle relaxers and pain killers.  That worked for awhile.  Then after driving back from a ski trip in Vail I experienced intense and nearly constant pain in my lower back, with sciatica down the back and side of my left leg to my knee.

I couldn’t play with my kids, exercise, work at my desk, drive, and even just getting out of bed was too painful to bear.  My sleep was interrupted, and growing frustration was replacing my typically positive mood.  I spent hours online conducting research into my options.  The process of Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression made good common sense to me, and the demonstrated success rates were impressive.  Dr. Keller and the Summit Spine and Disc Center impressed me as having more experience and success with Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression than any other choice in the Colorado Springs area, and I did not hesitate to pick up the phone to arrange an initial consultation.

Throughout my treatment program, I looked forward to Decompression.  A Spinal Decompression session feels like the most targeted, most relaxing stretch I could imagine (although I know it’s actually much more than just a stretch), focused directly on the source of my pain. After each treatment, I immediately felt relief! As the treatments continued, the relief lasted longer and longer.

My case was relatively difficult (a 7 on a 10 scale, according to Dr. Keller), with several protruding/herniated discs and narrowing of the central canal.  Five short months later, I am now pain free! I have resumed nearly all of my normal daily activities.  I’ve even returned to my daily workout program and I’m able to again play with my kids like I used to!

To anyone hesitant to start the Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression Program I’d say if you qualify, you owe it to yourself to give it a chance—if you follow Dr. Keller’s program directly as prescribed, there’s an extremely good chance that you will eliminate your pain without having to face the risks and relatively low success rates of back surgery.

In addition, Dr. Keller and his team bring several things to the table that are often difficult to find:

  • Dr. Keller, his colleagues (Dr. Levi and Dr. Oborny), and his staff genuinely care.  They demonstrated from our earliest interactions that they would do whatever it took to help me feel better. The entire team made me feel at home and has been an absolute pleasure to be around.
  • Dr. Keller and his team are honest and humble.  Despite the success of Summit Spine and Disc Center, Dr. Keller and his team have remained very humble, very nice and very real.
  • Dr. Keller manages a very well run operation, and sets very high internal expectations.  Summit Spine and Disc Center is extremely well organized. The team diligently tracked every component of my recovery program and gave me confidence I was in good hands every step of the way.

In summary, Dr. Keller and his wonderful team have my strongest recommendation and deepest appreciation and respect. And I’ve put my money where my mouth is…  Dr. Keller asked me to consider a one year monthly maintenance program now that I’m once again pain-free…  I, in turn, asked Dr. Keller to sign me up for 3 years (prepaid)…  I believe in his program that much!  Meeting Dr. Keller was the best thing that ever happened to my health!

My backache started off and on about 2 years ago.  I had severe mid-low back pain with very mushy, weak legs.  I couldn’t stand up from a sitting position without help.  I could hardly even raise my legs to walk.

I could not get around without taking pain pills.  I was taking 2 Vicodin every 4 hours.  I could not do my housework.  I couldn’t even do the simplest things without pain.  I was only walking occasionally, and I was spending most of my time in bed.

I heard about Summit Spine and Disc Center from my son who had been a patient there.  I also saw their ad in the newspaper.

When I started decompression on my low back, it hurt at first, but then my pain settled down and my back improved tremendously.  My pain went from a 10 down to a 1, which is very tolerable considering before, I couldn’t do anything.  I’m now able to stand from a sitting position.  I’m able to get in and out of my car.  I’m also not in bed all day.

I would suggest that you need to at least give decompression a try before you try surgery.

I had initially had pain in my lower buttocks which eventually spread to the back of my leg.  I started getting tingling sensations along the side of my leg which later spread to the outside of my foot.  Pain was increasing every week until it got so bad that I couldn’t walk very much or sleep at night.  No pain medication was helpful.

My condition started out of the blue.  One morning I got out of bed and I was having pain like a sore muscle.  I lived with this condition for only one month because the pain was getting unbearable.

I was having to sit a lot because of the pain when I stood.  I could only stand for 5 seconds at most.  It got to the point that I wasn’t able to do anything.  I couldn’t sit anymore and I couldn’t sleep due to the pain.

My medical doctor prescribed physical therapy.  That just made it worse.  I was prescribed several medications but nothing helped.  I tried acupuncture, but there was minimal relief, and only for a short time.

When I started treatment at Summit Spine and Disc Center, it took about two weeks for me to feel a significant difference.  After that, the pain was slowly going away week after week.  Eventually, the pain was completely gone.

I can now do all the activities I used to do, and that’s a lot when you have a 6 and an 8 year old!

The doctors and staff at Summit Spine and Disc Center were very friendly and helpful.  They showed me, through my own x-rays and MRI what my problem was, and completely explained what would happen during decompression therapy.  If anyone ever asks me about decompression, I’d say they need to take a serious look at it; and recommend they call Summit Spine and Disc Centter for treatment.  In a word, they are AWESOME!  They gave me my life back.  I thank them, my wife thanks them, and my kids thank them.

I started having lower back pain following a day of trimming shrubs.  I had worked about 6 hours in a stooped, rotated position and thought my pain was muscular.  X-rays revealed compression and some arthritis.  I am used to heavy physical work and wasn’t aware that my physical sensations weren’t “normal”.  Before my evaluation, I thought the aches and pains I experienced after exercise were muscular pain.  It had apparently been years that I have been “playing through the pain.”

Before, I had been dealing with pain with occasional use of Tylenol or Advil, warm showers, a Tempurpedic bed, and massage.  I was referred to Summit by my personal trainer, Evie Rae.

Decompression gives almost immediate relief.  The machine pulls firmly but gently on my hips, releases and pulls again.  There is no discomfort and I usually dose off during treatment.  After my treatment plan, I feel less of what I thought was “normal” tension in my lower back.  The exercises are strengthening my back and my posture and mechanics have improved dramatically… that means less pain too.

I haven’t altered my life, but I am more comfortable even though I didn’t know I was uncomfortable before.  I am hoping that realignment and improved mechanics takes strokes off my golf game!  (Haven’t tried it yet.)

This is a painless treatment that may help you avoid further deterioration of your physical condition.

Everyone in the office is positive, friendly, and encouraging.  Scheduling was easy with makeup sessions conveniently available if I needed them.  I can’t say enough about the staff – they are as much responsible for my healing as the decompression process.
